ABOUT ME

I am Omid Omidvar,  a Los Angeles–based photographer, visual storyteller, and creative producer with over 25 years of experience capturing authentic human moments across film, editorial, and commercial projects.

I capture the world with a normal photographic lens because I believe the world feels most honest when seen through a human eye. Photography lets me hold a moment still and turn memory into something eternal. My practice centers on portrait and street photography, often shaped by cinematic framing, natural light, and quiet observation. I work mostly with natural light and minimal staging. I look for the space between actions — the second before a gesture, the breath before a word — where emotion feels raw and unguarded.

I was born with cerebral palsy, which placed me on the outside of many activities growing up. While others played, I watched. That distance trained my eyes to notice subtle movements, expressions, and relationships. Observation became my first camera long before I owned one. Films, poetry, and daily life taught me to break scenes into single frames and search for meaning within ordinary moments.

I advocate for accessibility and collaboration, believing that photography can educate, connect communities, and widen opportunity. Through my images, I aim to create empathy, dignity, and a sense of shared humanity.
